Dayna Kurtz and Eileen Rose both began making music in the late 1980s. Dayna took her first steps in New Jersey and then New York, collaborating with Nora Jones and Bonnie Raitt. Eileen formed her first bands in Boston and then began her music career in London where she hung out with Ozzy Osborne’s sister and writer Nick Hornby. Meanwhile, Dayna is thunderstruck by New Orleans, a city that contaminates blues, jazz, and voodoo with a thousand spices and flavors. The same thing happens to Eileen Rose with Nashville, capital of country music. There are cities, places that continually fascinate and inspire poets, artists and musicians. Just think of what New York has meant to Woody Allen and Andy Warhol. For American songwriters, there is one state that is “bigger” than all the others. Bigger in Texas is the title of this aperitif in music with Dayna Kurtz and Eileen Rose who will sing and tell us their perspective on this borderland with Mexico. From Buddy Holly to Joe Ely and Tom Russell, from Larry McMurtry to Orson Wells, from Lightin’ Hopkins to Townes Van Zandt, from flatlanders to the Rio Grande. Beer, margaritas, the works of 6 Texas artists and the songs and music of Dayna Kurtz and Eileen Rose in collaboration with the historic music magazine Buscadero.

From CASA MIA to CINISMO ABITATIVO - Mauro Sabbione
Live presentation of the songs that established the collaboration between Matia Bazar in 1983 Tango, Architettura Sussurrante and Aristocratica, with the re-proposition of the videos ‘furnished’ by Alessandro Mendini and Studio Alchimia. The images, an extraordinary repertoire of photographers and videomakers of the time, are authentic finds that have been miraculously saved and restored.
For months the publisher LACERBA had been asking me for a re-release of Architettura Sussurrante, the curious and little-discussed musical project by Mendini published in a few copies in 1983. In the video/performance we will hear and see the five significant pieces that created this daring, it has to be said, postmodern alchemy. A short performance of a larger concert N.O.E. NuovaOvvietàElettronica performed in clubs, retro-computing museums and avant-garde theatres around the world.
The performance will be on March 10th, from 6.30 p.m.
