BERGLIND SVAVARSDOTTIR

Berglind Svavarsdóttir was born in Reykjavík, Iceland.

She graduated from the Icelandic University of the Arts in Reykjavík and later continued her studies at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan, Italy, where she received a degree in painting in 2004 and specialized in visual arts in 2009.

Svavarsdóttir’s work is distinguished by her ability to blend two microcosms: the real and the fairy-tale, creating works that blur the line between what is considered possible and what is fantastic and dreamlike. His works often depict plants and animals in domestic settings, highlighting the conflicting and often intrusive relationship between man and nature.

His career has been characterized by an unwavering commitment to artistic research, exhibiting in various galleries and gaining recognition for his ability to evoke emotions through masterful use of acrylic on canvas and watercolor on paper.

Berglind continues to live and work between Reykjavík and Milan, contributing significantly to the contemporary art scene with her works that explore the delicacy and complexity of the natural world.
