MELANIA TOMA

MELANIA TOMA was born in Padua in 1996, and currently lives and works in London. The central focus of her practice is the exploration of narration of subjectivity and inter-subjectivity, inside historically specific networks of gender, hierarchies of power and ecological decline. After having taken a Master of Fine Arts at Chelsea College of Arts (UAL) in London in 2020, she has taken part in various important initiatives, including Studio Responses (Saatchi Gallery, London, 2024), London Design Biennale 2023 for Triennale Milano, Matter (Flowers Gallery, 2023), From the Rattle (FOLD Gallery, London, 2023), 17th Tapestry Triennale of Poland, Lodz, Central Museum of Textiles 2023; SEASON (for the event Nocturnal Creatures, Whitechapel Gallery, 2022). She has been an artist in residence at Casa Wabi, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, 2023.
