EL GATO CHIMNEY

El Gato Chimney (Marco Campori) was born in Milan in 1981, where he currently lives and works.

From a young age, he has been passionate about the world of urban art, joining the Milanese hip-hop scene and devoting himself to writing and street art.

El Gato Chimney’s work is distinguished by its fusion of surreal and symbolic elements, inspired by a wide range of influences including alchemy, magic, folklore, spiritualism and occultism. These themes are reflected in his paintings, where anthropomorphic animals are often depicted in masks and ceremonial garb drawn from European and oceanic traditions. His works evoke a sense of duality, representing both vices and virtues, and invite the viewer to explore deeper meanings through intricate details and vivid colors.

Throughout his career he has exhibited in galleries and museums in Italy and abroad, also participating in a variety of exhibitions both nationally and internationally. Recent publications include Nothing Is Real (2016, Silvana Editore, Italy); The Encyclopedia Of Fernal Affairs (2015, France); and Hunt And Gather (Mark Batty Publisher, 2010, United States).
