ADRIAN LANDON BROOKS

ADRIAN LANDON BROOKS was born in 1983 in Houston, Texas. He currently lives and works in Wimberley, Texas.
He studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute, developing an art practice that focuses primarily on painting and illustration, using found materials such as wood, metal and old photographs as canvases.
Brooks is known for his unique style that incorporates universal themes of love, loss and redemption. His works often reflect a “desert folk” aesthetic, characterized by bright colors and melancholy symbolism. He uses a variety of unconventional materials and surfaces, which include wooden boards and old photographs, to create compositions that evoke other worlds and sacred rituals that could belong to any culture.
He has exhibited his work in numerous cities in the United States, including Texas, Denver, Chicago, San Francisco, and Portland, as well as in Germany, Spain, and Amsterdam. His work has been included in museum exhibitions at The Contemporary Austin and the Fort Wayne Museum of Art. In addition, he has been featured in art magazines such as Juxtapoz, VNA and Art Maze Mag, and selected for issue 126 of the publication “New American Paintings.”
